Jelena Bulajić is a prominent Serbian artist born in 1990 in Vrbas, Serbia. She pursued her Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts at the Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad, from 2008 to 2012. Bulajić further enhanced her artistic skills by completing a Master of Arts in Fine Art at the City & Guilds of London Art School.
Bulajić is known for her monumental paintings that often focus on the human face, capturing its detailed texture and emotional depth through a unique blend of materials like marble dust, ground granite, and kaolin. Her work exhibits a deep exploration of identity and the human condition, often presented on a large scale to emphasize the intimacy and detail of each portrait.
Her artistic achievements include receiving the GAM MA Fine Art Prize from the City & Guilds of London Art School in 2013, the Niš Art Foundation Award in 2013, and the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant in 2012, among other accolades. Bulajić has also participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Europe and North America, with notable exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina and the Saatchi Gallery.
Today, Jelena Bulajić continues to live and work in Belgrade, Serbia, contributing significantly to the contemporary art scene both locally and internationally.
